CERAMICS INSPIRED BY AFRICA AND THE NATURE OF THE WORLD

Our Story

Intricately crafted by hand, Nkosi Ceramics is an expression of ethnic creativity, capturing the spirit and beauty of Africa in every unique piece. Nkosi Ceramics started from humble beginnings and now employs 40 staff members. Among the 40 members, 30 are artists, 3 are potters, 1 is a glazer and 6 are factory workers. All workers are local, they come from all corners of South Africa.

Our artists are from all over South Africa and they craft their unique interpretation of Africa. Each piece depicts a story in a very colourful and vibrant manner. This creative process, along with pride in the original design, ensures that no two pieces are ever alike.

All our pieces are exclusive one of the pieces and cannot be replicated. Each piece is dated, signed by the artist and sculptor and that makes Nkosi Ceramic masterpieces unique and yours alone. The manufacturing process is not mass production, each piece is handmade using clay. Each artist uses their own unique craft to enterprise Africa such that no two pieces look exactly alike. Everything is done by hand. Every piece is original and is issued with a certificate of authenticity. The turn around time for each original piece of art is roughly 21 days.

Quality is the cornerstone of our creativity and this includes the material we use. Crafted from quality clay, our gallery and tableware pieces are tempered in state of the art machinery and finished in non-toxic paint, Quality control paints are also carefully monitored to ensure a consistently high standard. Our range includes contemporary tableware with ethnic flavour, as well as our gallery pieces.

Our ceramic articles range from tableware to gallery pieces. The clay and paint used for manufacture are not toxic. The ceramic articles are therefore all safe for use in a microwave or oven. The top quality of ceramic articles has attracted both local clients and international clients (USA, UK, the African continent, China, Switzerland, Norway, Germany, and France)
